<p>PURPOSE:To perform a smooth scroll irrespective of the scroll direction of the display upward or downward by selecting the direction of scroll so that the change of the display positions between respective fields becomes smaller respect to both cases of a upward scroll or a downward scroll. CONSTITUTION:When a scroll is performed to a display such as a displayed cursor on the display of an interlace scanning system, the update timing of the display position is changed for the direction in which a smooth scroll can not be performed. That is, for an upward scroll, the cursor position is updated by switching fields from an odd numbered field ODD to an even numbered field EVEN. For a downward scroll, the cursor position is updated by switching the fields from an even numbered field EVEN to an odd numbered field ODD. Thus, by updating the cursor position update timing depending on the scroll direction, a current field cursor (solid line) is scrolled in adjacent to the cursor (dotted line) one field before the current field.</p> |
