摘要 |
PURPOSE: To solve any problem generated due to the allocation of synchronous band width on a fiber distribution data interface(FDDI) segment when the allocation is operated by a centralized allocator in an interconnected LAN definition area. CONSTITUTION: A third requester receives all information necessary for requesting band width reservation on an FDDI segment from a quality of service (QoS) allocator. The third requester can operate instead of an FDDI station which provides synchronous traffic and requests band width allocation to a synchronous band width allocator according to a station management specification. The third requester responds to the QoS allocator which permits or rejects allocation to whole paths according to the decision of the synchronous band width allocator.
