PURPOSE:To make the moving distance of an X-Y table longer by setting the movement inhibiting period of the X-Y table based on the maximum heights of electronic components mounted on a prescribed area on a circuit board and electronic components held in a components holding section by calculation. CONSTITUTION:When an X-Y table is moved after a suction nozzle 1 starts mounting operations based on the maximum height H of electronic parts 4 mounted in a prescribed area on a circuit board and the height (h) of an electronic component held by the nozzle 1, the period (interlocking period) during which there is a chance of interference between the parts 4 and 3 is calculated and only the period is set as the movement inhibiting period of the X-Y table. Therefore, the moving amount of the X-Y table can be increased without making the tact time longer, since the movable period of the X-Y table can be set longer.
