PURPOSE:To provide a video signal discriminating device which automatically discriminated inputted two-dimensional/three-dimensional video signals and an automatic video display switching device which automatically switches displays between two-dimensional and three-dimensional video displays based on the discrimination result. CONSTITUTION:A video signal discriminating device 1 extracts a prescribed line of the signal corresponding to the vertical blanking period of inputted video signals by a synchronization separator(SYNCSEP) 3 and a counter 4, the presence or the absence of the addition of a prescribed pulse is detected by a comparator 5 and two- dimensional/three-dimensional video signals are discriminated. An automatic video display switching device 2 is inputted with video signals and video signal discrimination information and the switching between two-dimensional/three-dimensional video display modes is performed by a switch 6. In a two-dimensional video display mode, two-dimensional video signals are distributed to display panels 8R and 8L by a distributing device 7. In a three-dimensional video display mode, three-dimensional video signals are alternately inputted into the display panels 8L and 8R every field by a field switching circuit 9. |
