PURPOSE: To obtain a video cassette recorder in a simple structure in which a broadcasting program in the exchange period of a new tape can be recorded without any intermittence even when the exchange process of the new tape due to the end of the present tape is accompanied during the recording of a television broadcasting signal by a video cassette recorder equipped with one deck mechanism. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a semiconductor memory element 15 which stores a television broadcasting signal at the time of detecting the end of the present tape, PIP processing means 19 which connects the stored broadcasting signal of the semiconductor memory element 15 and a newly received broadcasting signal with a PIP type at the time of the completion of the load of a new tape, and switching means 11 which selects a PIP type signal under the control of a system control circuit 3, and supplies it to a video recording/reproducing circuit. |
