<p>PURPOSE:To surely discriminate a reflection target by a method wherein polarized light whose polarization direction has been prescribed is radiated from an apparatus, the polarization direction of reflected light from a reflection target is made different from that of the radiated light and only the reflected light from the reflection target is detected. CONSTITUTION:The direction of a linearly polarized laser luminous flux from a visible semiconductor laser 3 is corrected by an angle-of-inclination correction system 6. The laser luminous flux is passed through a hole 7A in a bored mirror 7, it is incident on a birefringent member 11, it is changed into circuit polarized light, and it is turned inside a horizontal plane by a penta prism 42. The laser luminuous flux of the circularly polarized light is incident on a reflection 60 target, it is changed into linearly polarized light by a birefringent member which has been pasted, it is reflected by a reflecting plate, it is transmitted again through the birefringent member, it is changed into circularly polarized light, and it is incident on the prism 42. The laser luminous flux of the circularly polarized liquid is radiated downward from the prism 42, it is changed into linearly polarized light by the member 11, it is reflected by the mirror 7 other than the hole 7A, and it is incident on a polarizing plate 83. Then, only the laser luminous flux in a prescribed polarization direction is selected, and it is incident on a photoelectric transducer 86, and it is detected.</p> |
