PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a slab heating temp. as low as that in common steel and satisfactorily maintain the magnetic properties of the steel sheet by allowing the texture in the 1/5 layer region of the sheet thickness after decarburizing annealing to satisfy specified conditions. SOLUTION: A silicon steel slab contg., by weight, 0.02 to 0.07% C, 2.0 to 4.5% Si, 0.03 to 2.5% Mn, 0.005 to 0.030% Al and 0.003 to 0.010% N is heated to 1260 deg.C, is thereafter subjected to hot rolling and is next subjected to hot rolled sheet annealing. After that, it is subjected to cold rolling for one time or >= two times including process annealing between then to regulated its sheet thickness into final one, which is furthermore subjected to decarburizing annealing, is then applied with a separation agent for annealing and is subjected to finish annealing. The texture in the 1/5 layer region of the sheet thickness is allowed to satisfy the following conditions. Namely, the maximum peak orientation lines in the ranges of ϕ1 =90 degrees, ϕ:58 to 62 degrees or -58 to -62 degrees and ϕ2 =45 degrees by Bung's Euler angle notation, and the random intensity ratio in the 1241}<014> orientation is regulated to >=3.0. |
