Method and separator for separating adsorbent particles from a pulp and procedure for recovering valuable metal contents from a pulp. A separator is used which includes a cylindrical sieve which has its upper part open and its bottom closed, situated axially vertical in a tank which contains pulp, with the upper part of the sieve at or close to the maximum surface level of the pulp in the tank, a drive which is situated in the sieve with its axis of rotation vertical, means of operation and a driving shaft which links the means of operation to the drive, the drive being able to impel the pulp upwards from the sieve to a level higher than the maximum level of the pulp in the tank the drive is rotated in the sieve. The invention is applicable in the processing of pulps or ore pastes, in order to extract the metals therefrom. <IMAGE>
