Vaginal autosuture device for preventing urinary incontinence in women. The device is made up of a body 1 with an extreme head 3 forming an angle therewith, and in which head there is a semicircular needle 4 able to rotate in either direction, under the control of a transmission mechanism, in such a way that the rotation of this needle 4 in one direction results in the passage thereof over the tissues corresponding to specific zones of the vaginal wall 13 and the cartilage of the pubis 14, while the rotation of this needle 4 in the opposite direction results in the entrainment, by means of a harpoon-type projection 10 in the end of the needle 4, of a thread 11 duly placed in the head 3 of the device 1, with the two ends of the thread going in and coming out through the points which the needle has marked in its travel, with said ends of the thread 11 then being knotted to form an autosuture. The autosuture which is formed by the knotted threads 11 is applied on both sides of the urethra 12, in order to keep the vaginal wall 13 high and thus prevent urinary incontinence in the woman. <IMAGE>
