PURPOSE:To control the astringent force for a skin astringent extracted from a seaweed belonging to the class Phaeophyceae. CONSTITUTION:An extract from a seaweed belonging to the class Phaeophyceae is fractionated to provide the respective fractions, which are optionally combined to afford this skin astringent having controlled astringent force. The seaweed belonging to the class Phaeophyceae is preferably a seaweed belonging to the order Fucales. As a method for fractionation, a synthetic adsorbent HP-20(R) is used and an eluting solvent is optionally selected to control the astringent force. Thereby, this skin astringent having the optional astringent force utilizable as various cosmetics can be produced from the seaweed extract belonging to the class Phaeophyceae. In addition, beautifying and whitening effects can be controlled. |
