PURPOSE:To effectively synthesize trioxane by using a solid catalyst free from catalyst-activity loss even at a relatively high temperature at which high concentrated formalin is available and capable of being used for long time. CONSTITUTION:In the synthesis of trioxane from formaldehyde in the presence of a solid catalyst, a solid catalyst which is composed of a sulfonic acid group- containing vinyl polymer adhered or adsorbed on an inorganic solid is used as the solid catalyst. |
