PURPOSE: To obtain uniform mixing by providing a melting mixer for partially melting and mixing a synthetic thermoplastic material, a gear pump for pressurizing the molten synthetic thermoplastic material, an independently driven secondary mixer and a pelletizer. CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic material to be treated is supplied to a melting mixer 10 by a gravity type hopper 20 and the material 24 melted and mixed in the melting mixer 10 is sent to the inlet 26 of a gear pump 28 through an outlet means 22 and a connection conduit 23. The molten thermoplastic material passing the upper end of the gear pump 28 forms a material sump above a gear pair 36 and goes round the outside of the gear pair 36 within the space between gears and the outer wall of the pump to flow to a discharge region 40 and passes through a conduit 52 to flow in a secondary mixer 42 provided with a heating and cooling jacket 70. The outlet end of the gear pump 28 and the inlet end 48 of the secondary mixer 42 are connected in a close contact state by flange connectors 50, 51. The mixed material from the secondary mixer 42 is sent to the inlet end 80 of the pelletizer 82 connected to the outlet end of the secondary mixer 42 in a close contact state by flange connectors 82, 83.
