PURPOSE:To obtain the subject health drink containing gardenia extract, water- soluble vegetable fiber, cyclodextrin and sugars, having suppressed bitter and harsh taste of gardenia extract, effective for inhibiting the absorption of fat and useful for preventing obesity, etc. CONSTITUTION:This health drink containing gardenia extract, exhibiting fat- absorption inhibiting action in vivo, giving suppressed bitter and harsh taste of gardenia extract to the palate in drinking, having improved functionality and useful for dietetic treatment, etc., is produced by adding gardenia extract powder to water, dissolving a water-soluble vegetable fiber such as water-soluble and hardly digestible pineapple fiber into the solution, adding cyclodextrin and sugars, stirring the mixture, heating at 60 deg.C, removing solid substances by filtration, adding deficient amount of water, bottling the product, closing the bottle and sterilizing the content with steam at 90 deg.C for 30min. |
