The device (5a) of the invention makes it possible to fit a half vaulting arch on its support (3a). Characteristically, it comprises: - a half-arch (6a) which is solidly attached via a substantially horizontal pivot pin (7a) to an adjustment bracket (8a) fixed in proximity to the base (4a) of the support (3a) and which is capable of ridigly supporting the half vaulted arch, - lifting means comprising a bearing surface and making it possible, when the said bearing surface is in contact with the ground, to rotate the half arch (6a) about the pivot pin (7a), between a bottom position and a top position, the bracket (8a) being adjusted so that the half vaulting arch is positioned on its support (8a) when the half arch (6a) is substantially in the top position. Using the two devices (5a) and (5b) of the invention, it is possible to construct a complete vaulting arch, either using arch stones (26a) or by pouring concrete. <IMAGE>
