PURPOSE: To prepare powders contg. oxides of specified crystallite sizes simultaneously by arranging multiple specified steps in the preparation of a catalyst contg. refractory inorg. oxides and others deposited on a ceramic support, etc., in the form of a porous layer. CONSTITUTION: For preparation of the catalyst, at first an aq. suspension comprising powders of refractive inorg. oxides, which contains a part of at least one soluble cerium salt or at least one insoluble compd. of the specified metal and/or one soluble salt. is atomized to obtain powders or calcined. Then, the powders are resuspended, with adding the compd. of the specified metal or a binder and an inorg./org. acid. Subsequently, a ceramic or metal substrate is coated with the suspension. Also, the coated substrate is calcined. Further, coated and calcined substrate is impregnated with a precursor of the specified metal. And, the coated, calcined, and impregnated substrate is thermally activated. |
