<p>PURPOSE:To provide a die for molding optical device free from the fusion of glass and the production of deposited materials by the reaction of contained components at the time molding a glass by forming a carbon film excellent in adhesion and hardness on the base material of the die. CONSTITUTION:In the die for molding optical device used for press molding the optical device made of the glass, an intermediate layer composed of a noble metal or noble metal alloy is formed at least on the molding face of the base material of the die and the molding surface is a mixing layer composed of carbon and at least one or more kind of elements constituting the intermediate layer, in which the concn. of carbon atom is increased in the direction of the surface and decreased in the direction of the intermediate layer side and the concn. of the other atoms is decreased in the direction of the surface and increased in the direction of the intermediate layer side. Thus, the carbon film excellent in the adhesion and hardness is formed on the base material of the die and the die for molding optical device free from the fusion of the glass and the production of the deposited material by the reaction of the contained components at the time of molding the glass is obtained.</p> |
