PURPOSE: To simply set a bending radius without deteriorating a laminate by applying heating for bending so as to soften at least one of the boundary regions of a core layer adjoining metal sheets while allowing the central region of the core layer to remain unsoftened. CONSTITUTION: Heating for bending is applied so as to soften at least one of the boundary regions of a core layer adjoining metal sheets while allowing the center region of the core layer to remain unsoftened. For example, in the case of a laminate having an amorphous plastic core, heating is applied so that the temp. in one of or both of the boundary regions becomes almost equal to the softening temp. of the plastic material of the core. When acrylonitrile- butadiene-styrene is used as a material of the core layer, the temp. in the boundary layers is set to 150-190 deg.C. The laminate is held between the holder 2 pressed by the spring of a TUWI press and a lower mold 3 and a push jig 4 is moved downwardly to bend the protruding edge of the laminate around the curved corner of the mold 3. |
