CARD PROCESSING SYSTEM, CARD READER CLEANING CARD, AND CARD DISCRIMINATING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discriminate a cleaning card by simple constitution. SOLUTION: When a cleaning card 5 on which black coat parts P1, P2 for interrupting light are printed as stripes of the same width e.g. is inserted into a card reader, a photosensor in the card reader outputs an ON signal for t1 sec correspondingly to the black coat part P1 (or P2), outputs an OFF signal for t2 sec correspondingly to an interval between the P1 and P2 and finally outputs an ON signal for t1 sec correspondingly to the part P2 (or P1). When the pattern of the output signals from the photosensor coincides with a prescribed pattern, a control part in the card reader discriminates the inserted card as a cleaning card and executes prescribed cleaning processing.
