PURPOSE:To realize horse power up smoothly by changing the lift of the intake/ exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine steplessly in response to a load during its running. CONSTITUTION:This mechanism is provided with a rocker arm 2 for pushing down an intake/exhaust valve 1 and a cam 3 for driving the rocker arm 2 its upper part and an arm 4 having the bearing of the cam 3 for moving a cam shaft 3 and a servomotor for operating the arm 4.
