PURPOSE:To obtain a recording fluid having low viscosity and an excellent ability to penetrate into a substrate and not causing nozzle plugging. CONSTITUTION:This recording fluid comprises a polymer compound, a compound which forms a salt with the polymer compound, water, a pigment and a saccharide. The saccharide is selected from among D-glucose, D-xylose, D-ribose, maltose, lactose, D-fructose, D-mannose, D-galactose and L-arabinose. The polymer compound is the one obtained by polymerizing a monomer selected from among styrene, a styrene derivative, vinylnapthalene and a vinylnaphthalene derivative with a monomer selected from among acryclic acid, methacrylic acid, crotonic acid, itaconic acid, an itaconic monoester, maleic acid, a maleic monoester, fumaric acid and a fumaric monoester. |
