Wire-guide device for an electric machine producing an arc and having wire electrodes, the wire-guide device utilising the flow of a pressure gas for guiding the wire already used into a wire-cutting device which is attached to the wire-guide device and is used together with the latter. The wire-guide device has a guide tube for drawing in and guiding the wire, discharged after its use from the machine producing the electric arc, and a compressed-air supply unit. The guide tube has a funnel-shaped wire inlet at its top end and a wire outlet at its bottom end. The pressure gas is blown into the guide tube by a feed line which is designed to pass through the peripheral wall of the guide tube in such a way that the wire is guided neatly from the wire inlet towards the wire outlet.
