The method of dynamic projection of patterns and the evaluation of the reflected images of surfaces or of partial reflections at various sequentially lying optical surfaces (optical boundary surfaces in the human eye) has hitherto not been realised anywhere. According to the invention, questions of * optimising the reflected line pattern * the relative position of reflected patterns, resulting from different Purkinje images which have hitherto occured in microsurgery of the eye and, when appropriate, in the field of technical measurement, can be used with this method to determine even the individually different position of the sight axis of a patient, which cannot be observed with the aid of signatures and structures of the external eye. This in turn has decisive consequences for evaluating corneal topometries in general. In this case it can be observed for the first time whether a surface feature which is located off-centre in the image evaluation of video keratometry results from actual off-centre position on the test object or from off-centre position of the test object relative to the acquisition unit. The relevance of this interpretation is of great importance for microsurgery of the eye cornea.
