Wagon body for high-speed goods wagons, in particular a roof which can be opened and its side wall connection, the wagon body (11) being suitable for vertically receiving transportation vessels and transportation units (10) such as interchangeable containers, refrigerated containers, containers, logistic boxes or the like. The roof (4) is divided in the upper apex and the halves (4a) of the roof consist of two cover layers (4b) which are arranged at a distance from one another in a design appropriate for their function, the intermediate space of the said cover layers (4b) being filled with rigid foam. The halves (4a) of the roof are on the one hand mounted so as to be capable of folding down laterally by means of the bearing points (12) coupled to the connection profiles (14) of the side wall (6) and on the other hand are connected in the closed state to the side walls and to one another in a frictionally engaging way. <IMAGE>
