摘要 The invention relates to a device by means of which it is possible to measure the position of the wheels of rail vehicles relative to the rail in a contactless fashion. Instead of measuring the distance between the wheel flange of the wheel and the gauge line (running edge, inner edge) of the rail, it is a bending moment (flexural torque) produced by the wheel load in the chassis (running gear) structure which is measured. The bending moment - product of force x lever arm - changes when the position of the wheel relative to the rail, and thus the position of the wheel/rail contact point and thus the lever arm of the point of action (attack) of the wheel load change. The position of the wheel relative to the rail is suitable, in particular, as controlled variable for a control loop for the purpose of electronically supported (aided) track keeping (track guidance).
