An electrically driven industrial truck, especially a counterweight fork lift truck, has a traction battery (4) and a generator (6) driven by an internal combustion engine (5). The traction battery (4) and the internal combustion engine (5) are arranged in a space (1), open at the top, which can be closed by a flap (2). In order to manufacture such a vehicle at a low cost, the traction battery (4), the internal combustion engine (5) and the generator (6) are fixed on a common base plate (3). The mass of the base plate (3) is essentially equal to the difference between the mass of a traction battery completely filling the space and the aggregate mass of the components arranged on the baseplate (3).
