Overhead wire (contact wire) and a method for its production

It is proposed to use a copper alloy having alloying additives of 0.5 to 1.5 % by weight of chromium and 0 to 0.2 % by weight of zirconium in order to produce an overhead wire. The overhead wire can be produced by means of the steps of solution annealing, cold forming and precipitation annealing.
