A thin-film thermal print head has a head substrate (13) with a first longitudinal edge (13a) and a second longitudinal edge, a glazing layer (16) which is formed on a surface of the head substrate (13), a patterned resistance layer (19) which is formed as a thin film on the glazing layer (16) in order to provide a strip (11) of heating points which extends along the first longitudinal edge (13a) of the head substrate (13) and a patterned conductor layer (17) which is formed on the resistance layer (19) for a selective power supply to the heating points. The glazing layer (16) extends from the first longitudinal edge (13a) in the direction of a second longitudinal edge of the head substrate (13) and has a normal flat surface section (16a) and a rounded edge surface section (16b) which merges uniformly with the normal flat surface section (16a). The rounded edge surface section (16) extends along the first longitudinal edge (13a) of the head substrate (13) and increasingly approaches the head substrate (13) in the direction of the first longitudinal edge (13a). The heating point strip (11) is at least partially arranged on the rounded edge surface section (16b) of the glazing layer (16).
