Throttle housing for internal combustion engines

In the said throttle housing considerable leakages occur when the throttle valve is closed and low intake pressure prevails downstream of the throttle valve. In contrast to this the new arrangement has the characteristic feature that the throttle valve (11) is manufactured in a closed position in the body (2) with the throttle valve shaft (4) injection-moulded, the wall (9) of the intake port section (3) in which the throttle valve (11) is arranged forming the shell (9) of an injection mould (10), the end faces (7, 8) of which are formed by injection-moulding machine force moulds (5, 6) projecting into the intake port section (3) on both sides of the throttle valve shaft (4), which force moulds, if necessary, have injection and vent passages (12, 13). The expensive throttle valve assembly is dispensed with. Minimal leakages are achieved with the throttle valve (11) closed. <IMAGE>
