<p>A cutting device (50, 70) is provided for cutting material located between the cutting device and another cutting member (34) in a handpiece. The cutting device (50, 70) may take any number of forms. One typical form is a substantially triangular prism having a number of faces (53, 52, 51, 54) inclined to each other in which one face (53) is the cutting face oriented towards the other cutting member (34). Another form comprises a metal blade or metal sliver in which only cutting face (53) is exposed, the remaining parts of this form of the blade being covered with or embedded in plastics material or friction reducing material. Another form of the cutting device (70) is provided with the distal of free ends of arms (76) having a bend (78) which arms (76) connect the cutting device to a body ring (72) in such a manner as to provide a radially outwardly directed bias to the cutting device (50).</p> |
