A solid-state image sensor, the photosensitivity of which is improved by altering the arrangements of flat photoelectric converters and of corresponding microlenses, contains a pixel arrangement in which the pixels of a first column and of a second column are sequenced repeatedly with mutual offset, and focusing devices which are in each case formed directly over the light-reception region of a respective pixel, in order to increase the photosensitivity of the respective pixel, the light incident on the regions not receiving light being thereby focused onto the light-reception region and the photosensitivity being thus increased to an extraordinary extent.
