Device for measuring surface structures of patterns

It is known to structure the top side of metal moulds and graphite electrodes for the metal moulds by means of a laser abraiding machine. It is also known for picture copies (original pictures, master photographic images) and image patterns to be read into computers by means of scanners and transferred onto tools. In order to be able to use the device to measure surface structures of patterns in such a way that at least approximately identical surface structures can be fashioned on parts to be produced, the device has a camera which records the surface structure of the pattern in two dimensions and is connected to a processing unit. It processes the signals delivered by the camera by means of signals of a sensing system which detects the depth of the surface structure, and makes the conditioned data available at a data output. A tool of a cutting machine can be controlled via these data. Using the device, the tool of a cutting machine can be controlled with the aid of the conditioned data, with the result that it is possible to cut parts made from metal, ceramic, plastic or other materials.
