The present additional invention relates to the further development of the cooling unit according to the main patent (application) P 4227965.8-22, the cooling performance having to be ensured for cooling the cool box, which is designed as a catering container, in the event of failure of the surface cooler at any operating time. One design of the cooling unit comprises the modules of the cooling unit (21) being a heat exchanger (6) and a compression refrigerator (33). Further designs are described.
