The invention relates to a safety seal (1) which has a first layer (4) having a transparent surface (2) and a second layer (6) which forms the adhesive surface (3) and is segmented. This prevents the safety seal (1) being removed from the respective article sealed without being destroyed since the segmentation of the second layer (6) guarantees that the first layer (4) will tear independently of the base (on which the safety seal (1) is applied).
