The closing element (20) is designed as a rotary slide element and assigned to this is an electric protection circuit (40-42). Which only with the reaching of the closed end position of the closing element, permits a locking of the closing element, or releases or blocks specified or specifiable functions for operating the motor vehicle. The protection circuit has an adjusting element (40), which is adjustable by means of the closing element, with the adjusting of the closed condition and operates an electric contact (42).
