To permit treatment, virtually free from external energy, of rotting organic wastes inside a closed container provided with a receiving basket, while utilising natural environmental conditions, in particular solar radiation, the invention proposes to provide a receiving basket having outer wall channels, formed by double walls, utilising the sunshine and intended for forming a natural current while at the same time enabling moisture absorption, for which purpose at least regions of the outer wall of the container are made transparent.
