PURPOSE:To simplify the registering work of an unknown word in a dictionary by estimating the part of speech of a word to be registered, displaying the registration data of the registration word based on the part of speech, and selecting and correcting the pertinent value by a user. CONSTITUTION:An unknown word generated in the processing process of translation by a translation execution control part 3 is stored in an unknown word storage part 4, and the part of speech estimation processing of the unknown word is operated by a part of speech estimating part 5. Then, data necessary for the dictionary registration of the unknown word are decided by a user interface part 7 by using the estimated part of speech, the values of the data are estimated by using the character string of the unknown word, and items necessary for the dictionary registration of the unknown word such as the unknown word, part of speech of the unknown word, and registration data are displayed. Next, the pertinent value is selected by the user, and corrected as necessary. Then, the dictionary registration is operated by an unknown word registering part 6 based on the value. Afterwards, translation is executed by using the newly registered unknown word, and the translated result is outputted from an outputting part 8. |
