PURPOSE: To provide a device for boring or closing a seal welding hole of a fuel rod by laser. CONSTITUTION: The tip of a nozzle is provided with a flange, and an airtight space is formed between an enclosed body 6 and a laser output port through a block valve 36. A fuel rod 3 airtightly inserted in the central passage of the enclosed body 6 through a seal is positioned by bringing a plug into contact with a bearing plate, and the block valve is opened to focus a laser beam on a plug part, thereby performing boring or closing. A pipe for introducing helium gas is opened to the nozzle, and after the fuel rod is charged with helium gas, closing is performed. |
