<p>PURPOSE:To make regenerating time as short as possible without leaving particulates unburnt at an outer peripheral part. CONSTITUTION:The lower reaches side of a DPF 5 is equipped with a baffle plate 7 provided in conformity with a center part 5b in the end face so as to be separated from the center part 5b in the early stage of regeneration and to be brought into contact with the center part 5b in the latter stage of regeneration. In the early stage of regeneration, the permeability of the center part 5b of the DPF 5 becomes larger than that of the outer peripheral part 5a, and particulates accumulated at the center part 5b are burnt and removed at a stroke down to the lower reaches. At this time, the particulates accumulated at the outer peripheral part 5a are apt to remain unburnt. In the latter stage of regeneration, the permeability of the center part 7b is impeded by the baffle plate 7, so that the permeability of the outer peripheral part 5a is secured, and the particulates left unburnt at the outer peripheral part 5a is burnt completely.</p> |
