PURPOSE:To make it possible to easily orient first and second oriented films so as to vary visual field angle characteristics by 90 deg. with a liquid crystal structure of the same twist direction by disposing first and second substrates in such a manner that these oriented films face each other. CONSTITUTION:The thin-film transistor(TFT) substrate 22 is formed with transparent electrodes 31 and is formed with a soluble polyimide PI exhibiting a high-pretilt angle as the first oriented film 35 in the region B on the electrodes. The oriented film having a relatively small pretilt angle is formed as the second oriented film 36 in the region A. On the other hand, the color filter (CF) substrate 23 is formed with the transparent electrodes 37 corresponding to the transparent electrodes 31, is formed with the oriented film which is the second oriented film 36 on the region B and is formed with the soluble polyimide PI which is the first oriented film 35 on the region A. The TFT substrate 22 and the CF substrate 23 are opposed in the position where the first and second oriented films 35, 36 face each other and the liquid crystal 24 is injected therebetween. Then, the liquid crystal molecules of the same twist directions are oriented by varying the visual angle characteristics by 90 deg.. |
