PURPOSE:To provide a display by which an observer can view a 3D image over the entire width of the display even when display size becomes large. CONSTITUTION:An automatic stereoscopic 3D display is provided with a hybrid sandwich including a 1st lenticular screen 12, a spatial light modulator 13 a diffuser 14, and a 2nd lenticular screen 16. Diffused light beams are generated by plural light sources 1 to 4 in turn and modulated with two combined views by the modulator 13. The hybrid sandwich 11 projects the views in different directions to the observer 17. Therefore, the different 2D views are viewed in a direction corresponding to a direction where the views are taken in the midst of recording the 3D image. The single view is viewed over the entire width of the display by the respective eyes of the observer 17. |
