<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method for displaying an n-adic tree graph on a display screen. CONSTITUTION: A method for displaying n-adic tree includes a first step for dividing a display screen into two parts of the same size, a second step for displaying one node 10 of an n-adic tree graph 30 at most on one part of the display screen, and a third step for displaying the slave nodes 20a1 ,... of the node 10 of the graph 30 on the same part as that for displaying the node 10. Symbols corresponding to the node 10 or slave nodes 20 is displayed at the upper left corner of the screen. A visual clue indicating that the node 10 itself has an undisplayable slave node and another visual clue indicating that the slave nodes 20 have an undisplayable brother can be included in the symbols. A route selection routine is also supplied so that the observer of the screen can select a node, the slave nodes of which are to be displayed in more detail, by using a pointing device. In this method, the displayed tree 30 is automatically rearranged when the observer selects the node.</p> |
