SUPERCONDUCTING CURRENT LIMITER

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent a quenching current from fluctuating and decreasing and further to hold prescribed strength even when a superconducting magnetic shield body is exposed in Joule heat generated by a resistance component of a coil at the time of normal operation. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical body 5 formed of superconductor is arranged in the periphery of a soft iron-made core 1. A heat insulating material 6 consisting of FRP is arranged in the periphery of the cylindrical body 5. A coil 7 connected to a power transmission/distribution line is wound to the periphery of the heat insulating material 6. Joule heat generated by the coil 7 is shielded by the heat insulating material 6 and prevented from being transmitted to the cylindrical body 5. Even in the case of winding the coil 7 to the periphery of the core 1 and arranging the cylindrical body 5 in the periphery of the coil, the heat insulating material 6 is interposed between the coil 7 and the cylindrical body 5.
