PURPOSE:To enable simultaneous cleaning of a magnetic head and an optical lens with high efficiency by forming a catalog region on the inner peripheral side of a region where a lens cleaning member is disposed and forming a reproduction-only region i.e., information recording and reproducing region, on the outer peripheral side. CONSTITUTION:Range assignment information for the reproduction-only region 13 and the information recording and reproducing region 11 is put into the catalog region 12 of the substrate of a magneto-optical disk 1. A brush 3 is stuck to the region 13 or skip area 14 between the regions 12 and 11. The surface on one surface side of the disk 1, which surfaces faces the objective lens A, is provided with the lens cleaning member and the surface on the other surface side, which surfaces faces the magnetic head B, is provided with the head cleaning member. The region 12 is formed on the inner peripheral side of the region where the lens cleaning member is arranged and the region 13 is formed on the outer peripheral side, by which the handling operation is simplified and the cleaning of the head B and the lens A is simultaneously executed. The cleaning and removing of stuck and deposited dust are easily executed without signal reading errors. This cleaning disk is usable for a reproduction-only machine as well. The effectiveness of the recording and reproducing device using the magneto- optical disk is thus greatly enhanced. |
