PURPOSE: To provide a charged state indicator for monitoring the voltage generated by a battery used for a deep cycle application and giving an instruction when the charged state of the battery becomes lower than a prescribed threshold. CONSTITUTION: A charging state indicator 10 monitors the voltage generated by a degradable energy source 11 and gives an instruction when the charged state of the energy source becomes lower than a prescribed threshold. The indicator 10 has an input circuit 13 for reading the voltage and generating a plurality of tap voltages. The charged state indicator 10 further has a monitor circuit 65 for comparing each tap voltage with a corresponding threshold voltage, and generating a result for each tap voltage lower than the corresponding threshold value. The indicator 10 also has memory devices 75, 95, 115 for storing the respective results and generating an accumulated status, and an output circuit 152 for giving an instruction when the accumulated status exceeds an accumulated status threshold value.
