PURPOSE: To provide a system which stores information. CONSTITUTION: A text database system links together cross-correlative and interdependent concepts, namely, text blocks by means of a database engine 4. A numeric variable can be buried in a text and the text is automatically updated when the variable changes. When the document of a text is written, the system enables the writer to record his thinking and add the record to the related section of the document. For the addition, the reference to another report or database is electronically caught and stored. When the reference is performed, the genealogy of the first and last versions of the text blocks is also recorded automatically.
