<p>PURPOSE: To provide a connector assembly for an optical fiber whose inside parts can be easily detached and exchanged without detaching the whole connectors from a print circuit board. CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical ferrule 26 is fixed around an optical fiber, a ferrule holder is fixed around the ferrule 26, and a housing 36 for accepting it is provided with an open edge for assembling the ferrule holder at the rear part. The spring of the housing 36 biases the ferrule holder forward, a holding clip 38 is inserted from the outside of the housing 36 through the opening of the housing 36 to the rear part of the spring, the spring is held in a load state in the housing, and the ferrule holder is biased forward. When this holding clip 38 is removed, the ferrule holder can be easily resolved from the rear open edge of the housing 36 without detaching the housing 36 from a print circuit board 12.</p> |
