PURPOSE:To ensure excellent mechanical strength and moisture resistance of a protective film and to stably maintain satisfactory reliability over a long period of time. CONSTITUTION:A protective film 14 coating the surface of a reflecting film 12 on the surface of the substrate 11 of an optical disk 1 is made of acrylic ester synthetic resin and formed by spin coating or dipping. The acrylic ester synthetic resin is cured by irradiation with UV having 100-500W/cm<2> lamp intensity and the film 14 is formed in 1-5mum thickness.
