<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating resin composition which is applied on metal cans for foods and drinks or the like to give the coating films having excellent processability, adhesion, retort resistance, content resistance, extraction resistance, overbaking resistance, deterioration resistance with the passage of time, and denting resistance, and is especially suitable for the inner surfaces of the cans, and to provide a metal plate coated with the coating resin composition and used for the inner surfaces of cans. SOLUTION: This coating resin composition for cans, characterized by comprising (A) a polyester resin which comprises 70 to 100 mol.% of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and 30 to 0 mol.% of one or more other polycarboxylic acids as a polycarboxylic acid component, and 40 to 100 mol.% of a side chain-having polyalcohol and/or 1,4-cyclohexanedimenthanol and 60 to 0 mol.% of one or more polyhydric alcohols as a polyalcohol component, (B) a resol type phenolic resin which contains a trifunctional phenol compound in an amount of >=70 wt.% as a starting raw material and has one or more methylol groups per nucleus of the aromatic ring and >=50% of whose methylol groups are alkoxymethylated, and (C) an acid catalyst.</p> |
