<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an overhead electric wire from generating wind noise without lowering the AN characteristic of the wire and, at the same time, without increasing the wind-pressure load to the wire by providing a specific interval between the end sections of spiral rods wound around the wire at, at least, one place in one span. CONSTITUTION:Spiral rods 2a and 2b are wound around an electric wire 1 with an interval G between the end sections 3a and 3b of the rods 2a and 2b. The interval G is set at 0.1-0.4m. The wind-pressure load to the wire 1 is reduced without lowering the wind noise preventing effect so much, because the total length of the rods 2a and 2b wound around the wire 1 in one span is reduced. The strength of steel towers is not lowered. In addition, since the number of the spiral rods scattered on the surface of the wire 1 in one span is reduced, the number of places where large rain drops stay is reduced and the AN characteristic of the wire 1 can be improved.</p> |
