PURPOSE: To obtain an intermediate carrying sheet which can prevent defects caused by dust from being generated and can be used for a thermal transfer method for performing good image transfer to a body with an arbitrary shape by providing a vanadium oxide antistatic layer between a flexible base and an image receiving layer. CONSTITUTION: The objective system has a flexible base 23 with the surface side and the back side, an image receiving layer 27 and a vanadium oxide antistatic layer 25 applied on the surface side of the flexible base 23. In a thermal transfer intermediate carrying sheet 21 like this, the vanadium oxide antistatic layer 25 is positioned between the flexible base 23 and the image receiving layer 27. A vanadium oxide colloidal dispersion contg. at least the minimum effective amt. of vanadium is formed, e.g. by hydrolyzing a vanadium oxoalkoxide with excess water and the vanadium oxide colloidal dispersion is applied on the thermal transfer base 23 to form an antistatic layer 25.
